Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island with the best hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues. Made in the form of a date palm: the trunk and 16 symmetrical branches. From the devastating waves the island is protected by a breakwater in the form of a crescent, a symbol of Islam.

The island is located in the Persian Gulf. The best way to get to it is to rent a car. From the airport of Dubai it will take about 30 minutes.

What to do on the island:

  • take a yacht or boat ride around the archipelago;
  • jump with a parachute over Palm Jumeirah;
  • see the famous resort Atlantis The Palm by riding the monorail;
  • visit exclusive restaurants and cafes;
  • sunbathe on the beach, have fun and relax.

Entertainment and landmarks

The most popular place for recreation and entertainment is the Atlantis Hotel The Palm. Here is the best water park with numerous slides and rides, dolphinarium and sea aquarium (about 65,000 sea creatures). This is a great place for families with children.

Dolphinarium offers interactive programs with dolphins and sea lions: tricks, games, swimming and photography.

The Lost Chembers underwater museum is designed as a lost Atlantis, where you can snorkel and swim with stingrays and sharks.

The island also has spa centers, helicopter tours, diving, nightclubs and museums. You can visit the observation deck of The Palm Tower, which offers a view of the entire Palm. Be sure to ride the monorail along the entire island. See the developments, resorts, and bay.

Food

The meat dishes on Palma are excellent. There is a very tasty lamb served with traditional bread under cheese and spices. A must-try traditional dish, Al Haris, a wheat porridge with different types of meat that is stewed in an oven for 10 hours. A popular and inexpensive dish is falafel - balls of bean puree, deep-fried with spices.

Besides traditional cuisine on the island offer to visit restaurants with Australian cuisine (exotic dishes and wide range of beer), French (elite dishes with delicacies), Asian and European.

When is the best time to visit

The most ideal time to visit Palm Jumeirah is from March to April or October to December. It's not as hot as the summer season and the water is warm enough. In January and February, the bay becomes cool for swimming, but you can just visit the sights without going to the beach.

Walking around the island does not feel at all that it is artificial. It seems to be a natural extension of the land. Everything here is very beautiful, neat and yes, expensive. But Palm Jumeirah is a must-see if you come to rest in Dubai. It is an indescribable experience to see the man-made wonder with your own eyes.
